Have The Perfect Sunny Day By The Water!

Winter sure has been dragging on, hasn’t it? The rain has been enough to make even the ducks yearn for spring! But in after the gloomy days, sunshine is now forecast to stick around, so we thought we’d help plan the perfect day of food and fun, so you don’t have to spend a single sunny second working out what to do.

For those with a sweet tooth, there’s so much to indulge in. Andersen’s of Denmark at Harbourside is offering two thick shakes or milkshakes for $15, or two ice cream sundae baskets for $18 – so you can enjoy some Sunday sundaes! And you can warm up with two regular premium Belgian hot chocolates for $8 while you’re there. Gelatissimo, below IMAX Sydney, is serving up your favourite gelato within a warm donut – that’s right, inside a donut! – for only $5.

Take your sweet treats for a wander as you take in the sights, and get a little closer to the sunlight on the Star of the Show Ferris Wheel at Harbourside, where you’ll find gorgeous sweeping views of the entire harbour. Then pop into SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium to get under the water and see all the beautiful and fascinating creatures that make our country’s seas and oceans unique.

Next, fill your belly with a legendary lunch. Stacks at Darling Quarter is dishing out succulent chargrilled Brazilian sirloin with creamy mashed potato for $21, while Nick’s Bar and Grill has on offer Nick’s Famous Seafood Chowder, served with mussels & fresh seasonal seafood, for only $16. Or, for a really special treat, head into Nick’s Seafood Restaurant at Cockle Bay Wharf for a whole baby lobster, served mornay, thermidor, or with garlic butter, for just $48!

Meander through the twinkling lights of the harbour as the sun begins to set, and take a trip through the Village Green at Darling Quarter to bask in the glow of Luminous. Then pop into The Ternary for their new winter cocktail, the Ice Fire, which is sure to warm you up! Starting with Maker’s Mark and adding the subtle sweetness of butterscotch liqueur, the Ice Fire combines fresh honey with the delicious aromas of Cointreau and a splash of Angostura Bitters. Or, head over to the Hard Rock Cafe for a free dessert, their apple cobbler, or a glass of mulled wine for free with any main. Still full? You can still fill up on tasty mulled wine, for $5 a glass.

So come join us, on a sunny little slice of winter!
